A Dog. A Thorn. A Mouth. Ouch!

Louie came into our clinic with a few concerns, one being that his mouth was rather stinky. Upon examination it was discovered that he had a large twig firmly lodged in his hard palate and wedged in the teeth of his upper jaw! The area was infected (i.e. the smell) and we were unable to remove it with Louie still conscious, and so we sedated him. Under sedation we were able to take a much better look at things and found that the twig had a big thorn on it too which was deeply embedded into poor Louie's hard palate! Ouch!
