A Little About Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a very important imaging modality used in veterinary practice. It uses sound waves transmitted by a probe into the tissue being examined which bounce back and create a black, white and grey image that can be interpreted on a computer screen. It is used to examine the abdomen and chest of veterinary patients, as well as the structure and function of the heart.
