Taking Dental X-rays of your Pet

Published: 12 Jul 2015

Dental procedures are commonly done in veterinary practice because both cats and dogs need regular dental cleaning in order to maintain their oral health. Dental extractions are often required to remove painful or infected teeth and are part of the treatment for feline immune mediated gingivitis. Dental x-rays, done with a special dental x-ray unit, are a critical part of dental procedures as they identify problem teeth and allow the veterinarian to be certain that all root fragments are removed completely after an extraction procedure has been done.
