Tube-Feeding

When cats become ill they very often stop eating, which is very harmful to this particular species. Placing an oesophagostomy tube (a tube directly into the oesophagus) through the skin in the side of the neck is a commonly done and important procedure in treating such anorexic cats. They tolerate the feeding very well and it can be done easily by owners at home for sometimes protracted lengths of time.
