The situation in the Middle East has got many of us feeling unsafe, uncertain... and, for many, trying to leave... with our pets as quickly as possible!
We can NOT influence flight availability, schedules or when you and your pets might be able to leave (obviously).
We CAN begin the relocations process with you now.
We CAN take care of your pets in our pet hotel if you need us to, for as short or long a time as you need.
Our 24/7 veterinary clinic remains constantly available, too.
- Emails and WhatsApp: DO contact us this way. We are inundated but we ask you for a little patience and you will be responded to. We promise, you will not be ignored or forgotten. We are doing our very best If you've emailed or WhatsApped us already, you will get a response soon.
- Phone Calls: Do NOT contact us by phone. For the moment, we are not taking phone calls. We simply cannot cope with the number of calls we receive. We want to serve you well - at this time, we cannot do that by phone.

DKC Relocations
You cannot imagine the almost endless and offen unpredictability of the export/import requirements for pets around the world. So here we give you some broad, important and reliably-known guidance on destination-country requirements only for those countries which at the moment are among the greatest of interest for many of you out there:
APPLICABLE TO ALL PET RELOCATIONS FROM THE UAE:
An export health certificate, issued by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change & Environment (MOCCAE) is mandatory. Timeline for issuance will depend on the destination country.
BROAD, ROUGH TIMELINES:
- Manifest cargo relocations generally require a 2–3 week window from the moment of receiving what is required for the relocation. However, the entry requirements for some countries require a much longer lead-time.
- Accompanied baggage documents for travel: Minimally, 5 days.
HELP OVERSEAS:
If you would like to reach out to a pet relocation agent in your intended destination country, please visit the IPATA search engine here:

OMAN
- Issues at the border road-crossing into Oman have been reported as Oman is reaching full capacity given the significant influx of people trying to leave the region via Muscat. The road borders are open to Omani nationals or residents.
- Please review Oman entry requirements here:
https://www.dkc.ae/docs/airspace-closure-help/Oman_-_Pet_Import_Requirements.pdf
- IMPORTANT NOTE ON THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Based on information from an agent with whom we work regularly, the 3-month wait-period after a blood test is done has been temporarily lifted - this is subject to change at any moment. This does not mean that a RNATT/blood test is not required - it means that the 3-month wait after the fact is currently being waived. Timeline to take into account: from the sampling date, the test results usually take 2-3 weeks.
- VERY IMPORTANT: Oman has a different rabies status to the UAE, so if you are intending to relocate elsewhere from Oman, your pet may require a rabies titre test and have to remain in Oman for 3+ months in order to meet additional requirements.
SAUDI ARABIA
- For the import information and required vaccinations for cats and dogs, see links here:
https://www.dkc.ae/docs/airspace-closure-help/KSA_-_Pet_Import_Requirements.pdf
https://www.dkc.ae/docs/airspace-closure-help/KSA_-_Vaccination_Requirements.pdf - Agents in KSA are not sure how long it will take to procure the KSA import permit due to the current geopolitical circumstances. Under normal conditions, this can take up to 10-14 days.
- VERY IMPORTANT: KSA has a different rabies status to the UAE, so if you are intending to relocate elsewhere from KSA, you may require a rabies titre test and have to remain in KSA for 3+ months in order to meet additional requirements.
INDIA
- See requirements here:
https://www.dkc.ae/docs/airspace-closure-help/India_-_Pet_Import_Requirements.pdf - We have received a lot of enquiries for India. The agents there have advised us that there has been a relaxing of their entry rules and requirements. See here:

- Dogs: The entry requirements are quite exacting. Please visit:

- Cats: The requirements are straightforward:
• They must be microchipped and have current rabies and annual feline vaccinations, with the rabies vaccination being at least 30 days old at the time of travel.
• If they are travelling through an EU country, the EU requirements must also be met: that you have proof that the date of microchip insertion was prior to at least the last rabies vaccination.
• Within 10 days of travelling, the UAE health certificate must be gained by the UAE Ministry (MOCCAE).

DKC Boarding & Daycare
We currently do have space to accommodate your dogs, cats and other small animals ~ short-term or for as long as you might need.
- Opening Hours remain the same:
https://www.dkc.ae/about-dkc/two-legged-timings
- Collection & Delivery services are operating normally.
- Vaccinations: Your dogs and cats will need to be vaccinated to board with us. If their vaccinations are not up-to-date, we can make exceptions in some cases, and we can have your pets revaccinated/boosted while they board with us ~ you will need to provide us with each pet's vaccination booklet/passport, as well as a copy of your Emirates ID.
Given the current situation, we understand that it will likely be difficult for you to know what the length of your pets' stay with us will be ~ we will refund any unused days. Don't worry about that part of it at all.
DKC Veterinary Clinic 24/7
- We are open 24/7.
- Genuine Medical Emergencies: If we are not responding quickly enough to your emails/WhatsApp messages, and if your pet has a genuine medical emergency, just come. Just come to our clinic and we will help you.
- If you believe your pet has need of emergency care and you do come to our clinic, we will quickly assess ~ if it is in fact not a medical emergency, we will of course still help you and your pet, but we might have to ask you to wait until a vet becomes fully available.
- About Relocations & Boarding/Pet Hotel: Please read the two sections on this page, immediately above.
We know you are probably very worried and uncertain. We are currently overwhelmed with emails, WhatsApp messages, and with pet owners coming directly into our cllinic. We know we are not responding to your messages as quickly as you want or need us to ~ we are sorry about this and we are, truly, doing our very best to get back to you all as quickly as humanly, and humanely, possible.
